Poor customer service and defects in the room

Good location, well appointed

Cons Staff attitude and room preparation. On checking in was given a key that didn't work on the allocated room. We were informed that we had been given adjacent rooms so tried the key on the adjacent room, which worked . The room was already occupied, so a HUGE security risk. The staff were not bothered and didn't even apologise. In the allocated room, the TV was on working, and after several attempts, a person came to look at it and couldn't fix it, and said they would look into it and took the remote. We went out, and when we came back found the remote returned , but the TV still didn't work, and there was no explanation. The staff just brushed the issue under the carpet. On speaking to the person on duty, they said that they couldn't fix it and offered to change the room. As it was late, and we had a very early morning flight, we refused, and said we expected compensation. They said they would escalate the matter to the Manager. I asked that the Manager contact me, which they said they would convey. The staff were polite throughout but ineffective. I told them that I had paid full price, but didn't get what I had paid for, and there appeared to be a careless attitude with all three staff members that I interacted with in terms of multiple mistakes. Wrong key - leading to inconvenience and a huge security breach, TV not working, response after repeated attempts (phone also had defects) , no intimation that they hadn't fixed the TV leading to the need for further follow up, and no response from the Manager. The team appears to want to sweep the whole issue under the carpet. This is a very high end hotel with commensurate high charges. I expect to be reimbursed for the whole experience not being what I paid for. This was informed to the staff who were empathetic but havent done anything, or contacted me despite asking for the response to the matter. Can Booking.com help ?

Cons Die Musik von der Bar unter unserem Zimmer im Nebenhaus des Hotels war bis 3 Uhr morgens viel zu laut. Schlafen war nicht möglich.

Central nice hotel but staff and attitude towards customers disappointing

Central location right next to the pedestrian area. Harpa Concert Hall a 10 mins walk away. Rooms are big and comfortable, breakfast varied.

Cons Access to various sections is very complicated. If you are in a certain area and need to take the elevatir down, you need to scan your room key. We had just checked out so I had to carry the luggage on the stairs. Check in took a lot of time, check out the same. It was the time of Reyjkavik Culture Nights so everything was very busy. The parking lot stayed close for more than 24 hrs. They were unable to accomodate us in the restaurant for dinner because they said they were fully booked weeks in advance. There was noise on the streets until midnight. I understand this is out of their control but at least they should have given us some kind of notice so we prepare better. I did not feel any of the staff at the fromt desk really cared about out opinion.

A nice retro vibe!

We had a wonderful stay at the Canopy by Hilton Reykjavík City Centre. The location is excellent—within easy walking distance of Rainbow Street, restaurants, shops, and many of Reykjavík’s attractions. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel has a stylish, modern Icelandic feel. A special thank you to Julio and Jani, who sent messages during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed and that our stay was going well. Such a thoughtful and personal touch! The staff was welcoming and helpful throughout our visit. We would definitely recommend this hotel when staying in Reykjavík!

Nice hotel in a convenient location

This hotel is conveniently located in the center of action. It is within walking distance to restaurants and shops. The rainbow street is just a few blocks away. The room was nice and comfortable, but the blanket was too warm.
