Great place to visit. Don't bother to stay

Setting in the grounds are beautiful.

Cons The rooms are absolutely uncomfortable. Minimalist, Zenny and dark. The bed is about 24 in off the floor and hard as a rock. It's a single futon style mattress. The room is large enough to accommodate an easy chair which would have been very nice. There is no television or mini fridge which we look forward to having on our trips.., I called the restaurant at least a half a dozen times in the day before and day of our stay and was never able to reach anybody to book a reservation. Skip this place.

So charming, good food, memorable, lovely views, nice dock

Love the unique, quirky, rustic, cozy vibe. I loved my dinner and the cozy atmosphere at dinner and the double cabana style seating on the lawn out front. Special touches like the wellness room, tree net, pour over coffee option in room was lovely. Of course loved the waterfront. The cabins looked adorable, but packed in (we didn’t stay there) . We had to stay in the lagoon room since traveling with our 18 year old daughter. Only 21 + allowed in lodge. Wait staff was great, recommend making a reservation.

Cons The lagoon rooms were rustic but appreciate the extra touches. Historic properties have challenges with charging devices, they made efforts to remediate this but may need to plan ahead. Garden was neglected and lagoon was not what I was expecting, a bit let down but still a nice place to relax and loved the Adirondack chairs on deck. Biggest downer was that other residents walked by our room/deck to get to their room. We couldn’t leave the windows open (someone could easily get in the room, and it was too warm for us making it hard to sleep. Also the price was a barrier. That being said, I’d still stay here again-just request a different room.

Stayed in the main lodge. As described, old but comfortable.

Cons Someone didn't get the shared bath concept.

Neat historic inn located near hiking and Coupville.

Great location. Very nice staff, especially restaurant staff. Also received a late check-out that was very appreciated.

Cons Breakfast options were disappointing (chia not set and muffin was dry so didn’t eat either).

Lovely Stay

The property was gorgeous and the rustic ambiance was very nice. The bed was very comfortable and the view of Penn Cove was stunning. The location was close to town, but felt off the beaten path enough to really allow full relaxation.

Cons The shared bathroom experience wasn't my favorite. I'd probably book a cabin next time. The sauna was nice, but needed to be reset before and part way through using it.

This place is amazing. You will read reviews about the things that are missing such as a microwave, a refrigerator and other modern day amenities. If you are looking for those things, you may want to stay elsewhere. ANYONE who wrote one of those reviews as a negative, CLEARLY missed the point of this place. It is a beautiful inn built in 1907….AGAIN 1907!!!! It has been tastefully updated as much as possible to keep the rustic charm/feeling that you definitely want when you stay at an inn such as this. Our stay was amazing and we cannot wait to return.

Cons We had private room and private bathroom. In touring the lodge, we saw the shared bathroom. The shower situation is too open. There was a clear glass shower door and a curtain that has openings you can see through. There are two stalls, a sink and a shower. If you lock the main bathroom door, then you’re keeping anyone from using the restroom at all. If you leave the main door unlocked while showering, guys will come in and leave the main door open. The main door opens directly into the hall way.
