Cowlitz River Lodge

Disappointed.

The bed was comfortable.

Cons I it looked like a lodge from the outside but the only part that was a lodge was the lobby, then it was just a dated motor lodge. It was overpriced for what it was.

Friendly staff. Comfortable room.

Accommodations were nice enough, just a tough weekend to be in Packwood.

Convenient for travel to Mt Rainier

Cons I was unaware of the activities, noise and congestion in the community for Labor Day weekend. There was no parking for us at the hotel, the area was being used for event parking. The gentleman at the parking entrance tent suggested we park in the open handicap spot. I would never park in a handicap spot! We parked in the grass, carried our luggage back to our room. The girls at the desk were very sweet but had no resolution to the parking either.

Location is great. New staff is super friendly. Rooms.are nice and comfortable

Cons Parking wasn't great this time. Seemed like a lot of non hotel guests were parked in the lot spaces and some were taking up several spaces making it difficult for actual guests to park . Also, some guests were smoking on the balcony right outside the room doors.

I will stay again for sure!
