Holiday Inn Salem

Good stay for great fun in the area!

We had a wonderful stay at the Holiday Inn in Salem. The rooms were comfortable and the staff were kind, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. The location was also convenient for our trip. It was a reasonable commute to many of the activities we had planned in the area. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Cons We booked two rooms for our family stay. One room was clean and well maintained when we checked in. However, the second room upon entrance had an unpleasant odor. The odor eventually cleared up once we opened windows and aired out the room, but it definitely wasn’t the most pleasant way to start. Aside from this issue, we had a wonderful stay. We would suggest checking rooms for any unusual odors before guests arrive, as addressing this small detail could make an otherwise great experience even better.

The bed was surprisingly comfortable. I normally can't get comfortable in hotel beds and don't sleep.

Cons The room was not cleaned well. The bathroom was a problem. There was a clump of hair in the shower drain, public hairs on the shower floor, and partial footprints also on the shower floor. Other parts of the floors in the room also dirt present and cobwebs by the ceiling above the clothing armoire.

Cons The TV did not work. The phone was not working and was not plugged in. Maintenance had to fix the TV. Remote was also on the floor. Floor was not vacuumed very well. Saw clothing tags on carpet from previous residence.

I would not stay there again.

The location

Cons The carpet had dark stains and was bunched up. I tripped on it . Also, the room was extremely cramped .
