A booking.com failure.

The hotel itself was fine.

Cons The location was sketchy, a bit run down, barbed wire on some fences as we approached weren’t welcoming. We immediately asked to cancel the reservation upon checking in: one night instead of four please. But through booking.com the staff said it was not possible. “We don’t have your money, booking.com does. It’s up to them, it’s out of our hands.” BC makes it extremely hard to contact them for events like this, instead always referring customers to the rented property management. “Your request for cancellation was denied by the property.” So both sides are pointing the finger at the other. Disgraceful. When you buy something online you can always return it when it arrives and is not what you wanted or not what it looked like online. This should be no different. Multiple attempts to resolve this and get a refund failed. I will never use BC for anything again.

Overall, the day was good. The breakfast was lacking.!

The room we stayed in I thought was very spacious!

Cons The breakfast was horrible. I know everybody has their own taste, but for the amount of money were spending for the breakfast. It was not good. McDonald’s has a better breakfast and I don’t like McDonald’s.

Cons The staff kept looking at us as if we had done something wrong or as if we were going to steal something. It made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. We had paid for our stay, and I understand that the hotel has rules regarding noise, but I don’t believe that justified the way we were treated. I have stayed at hotels many times and have always had good experiences, so this was very disappointing, especially because it was my first time experiencing this kind of treatment. We were eventually asked to leave the room, even though we had paid for our stay.
