Did not live up to our expectations … At All !
The view
Cons Location in Anchorage full of homeless and drug addicts. My wife was threatened with a knife by a drugged up woman wanting a cigarette! And this was during lunchtime. The streets are like a scene from zombies dawn of the dead! The city needs to do a better job with sheltering these guys as they are a threat…. Be warned

Good location. Attentive staff. Nice painting all around giving a very good feeling about the place— like a museum.
Cons Hotel is dated. Toilets are very low— designed for short people. It seems it is designed only for cruise passengers. For $600 per night, this is not up to mark.

Old world charm with modern comforts
Historic hotel with decor of old lodges of the past. The room was clean and comfortable, and the bed and pillows were luxurious. Lots of wood accents and crown molding, and granite counters for the bathroom. We ate at the crows nest, and had an excellent meal and service and beautiful views of the bay. The hotel has three towers and the lobby that connects all three with a variety of restaurants and services and shops.
