Cons This was my second family trip to Portland and my second time staying at this hotel. The first time was the main reason why I decided to book this hotel again. But this time I was very disappointed, not only with the stay but my overall stay. I arrived at 2:30pm from a 19 hr drive from California. They informed me my room wasn’t ready and I would have to wait. But yet everyone else that arrived after us got checked in just fine. So after waiting for an hour I finally was able to get my room key. If my room wasn’t ready I was expecting a freshly clean room smell. My room looked like it was ready hours ago. Not even an hour into getting my room, the room below us brought a speaker from home and was playing super loud music. Bad enough that you can feel the vibration in every room. When I called the front desk they said they will look into it but can’t really do anything till 10pm. Everyone at the front desk we’re rude and unprofessional. Don’t get me started with the bearded gentleman that was working the value. He has no people skills and you can tell he hates his job.

Room was nice, staff were nice, but the parking made it quite awkward to even get into the hotel.

Cons The website said free parking, which was one of the main reasons we selected it. Turns out they only do valet parking for something like $60/day!

Nice touches

Beautiful location, excellent for walks, staff super nice, great selection at breakfast, coffee surprisingly good, on-site store convenient, swimming pool pretty warm but great for kids, kitchen well stocked, we loved having a kitchen, wifi worked great, rotating TV very smart, you can watch in bed or in the living room.

Cons Pullout bed was uncomfortable. The mattress is very thin and you can feel the metal bars underneath. My nine year old slept fine on it, but not for adults.
