The Majestic Hotel & Spa boasts an enviable address along the "Park Avenue" of Barcelona, but while it holds undeniable classic charm, the experience falls slightly short of a seamless five-star stay. ​The Accommodations & Tech The rooms are beautifully appointed and cozy, providing a restful retreat. However, navigating the property to reach various amenity floors feels like an obnoxious labyrinth, and the in-room plumbing proved underwhelming for a luxury hotel of this tier. Connectivity was also an unexpected friction point: signing into the Wi-Fi was frustratingly difficult, and Chromecast failed to work despite hotel indications. To their credit, the staff provided an Apple TV, though requiring a separate security deposit and asking guests to uninstall it upon departure added an annoying—if manageable—extra hurdle. ​Amenities & Dining ​Wellness & Spa: The gym is adequate, but the wellness policy is unusual for a five-star standard. Sauna access is not included with the workout room; it requires a private 45-minute reservation or a booked service. While private access is a nice perk, the lack of seamless integration is inconvenient. ​Rooftop & Dining: The rooftop views felt overhyped and rather ordinary given the anticipation. Across the board, on-site pricing leans steep for the value delivered, though the breakfast buffet was a magnificent, stand-out feast. ​Service & Verdict The staff deserves high marks for genuinely trying to go above and beyond with warm hospitality. Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona was an exceptional experience from beginning to end. The hotel is elegant, beautifully maintained and perfectly located, making it an ideal base for exploring Barcelona. What really stands out is the service: professional, attentive and genuinely welcoming. We especially appreciated the lovely attention given to my husband’s birthday. It was a thoughtful gesture that made the occasion feel even more special, and we were truly touched by it. The rooms are comfortable and refined, and the atmosphere is sophisticated while still feeling warm and personal. A wonderful stay in Barcelona, made even more memorable by the kindness of the staff. We would gladly return and highly recommend the Majestic Hotel & Spa.
