Das Hotel ist wunderschön. Die Lage ist perfekt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind schön und sauber… ein sehr schöner Ort, um nach einem aufregenden Tag im Großstadtdschungel wieder runterzukommen.

Beautiful building, but the Taj hospitality was missing
The building and location are still stunning.
Cons I've stayed at Taj hotels for years, and people choose Taj for its warm, attentive hospitality. On my August stays at The Pierre, that was missing. My bathroom door wouldn't close, and the hot water was unreliable. These are basic things at any hotel, let alone one at this price. Breakfast had also dropped all the key Indian items, which for a Taj property is hard to understand. The building and location are still stunning, but at over $2,000 for my stays I expected the Taj standard, and I didn't get it.

Cons Very disappointing; my expectations were very high. It was impossible to get ironing service at night—a very basic amenity in hotels of this caliber. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, but the worst part was the staff: rude, unpleasant, unsmiling, unhelpful, and uninterested in assisting. They were employees who simply didn't care about the guests or the hotel. I won't be returning, and it’s a waste of your money.

Most comfortable bed in the world
It was the most comfortable of beds Ive ever slept in. So much so we took a photo of the label and are going to buy the same mattress for home. The hotel, staff and location were perfect.
Cons The price. I think it was three times the price it should have been. I know New York is expensive but this hotel really is for the very very rich where money is no object. For us it was a once in a life time treat but actually not worth the money which could have been spent in so many better ways.
