Warwick Le Lagon Vanuatu

Breakfast was decent, pool was a great location for views and very clean facilities / towels. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, pool bar was good as well. On site restaurants were very good as well. Grand Casino was a great central location cheap drinks and really good food to escape all the families / kids at Le Lagon.

Cons The monopoly that the taxis has on the hotel was the only issue, and were ripping people off, catch a bus out on the street and pay 200 vatu to get into town instead of 1000 - 1500 vatu, plus the bus drivers were really friendly and ready for a chat and full or knowledge and very safe. Should only be paying around 8000 to 10000 for a taxi trip for the whole day - dont let the front counter staff negotiate there will always be another taxi or drive that will take your money.

Cons The grass was nicely mowed but unfortunately due to the rainy weather the grass clippings stuck on shoes and feet amd were dragged into the room all the time. There was no provided broom to manage this. Perhaps add room broom and collect clippings using a catcher or raking during rainy season

The resort overall is well maintained and spacious, with plenty to offer most guests in regard to pools, other facilities, restaurants, etc. The staff were all very friendly.

Cons We were allocated an older style room, whilst we know that other rooms have either been renovated or in the process of being.

Cons We had to change resorts as The Warwick doesn't have Starlink and it essential we have that for work while we were there. Internet very patchy. It would be cheaper for them to install Starlink over what they are paying at the moment. There was a horrendous smell in the bathroom everytime you used the shower.

Beautiful stay with lovely, welcoming people

The pool were lovely, the garden view bungalow that we booked was lovely and spacious with a tub, the hammocks everywhere were beautiful. Loved the water sports available and staff were so accommodating and friendly, super helpful with Amy requests. The spa was lovely and the cocktails were delicious. Breakfast and lunch food was quite good!

Cons The buffet dinner was not great food and the Thai restaurant was fairly good but we found much better food across the water that was a short boat ride away. Wifi connection when you weren’t near reception wasn’t great, especially in the room but was helpful to actually “switch off”. The pool temp was a little cold (sea water was warmer) but as soon as the sun came out it was more comfortable.

Overall our experience was good here

The resort is spacious and pool area is huge. The staff were friendly. The breakfast was good - buffet style with lots of selection. It had nice views of the lagoon which we hired complementary kayaks one of the mornings which was nice. Every day there is a list of kids and adults activities for the current and following day. We saw the fire show on the Monday night which was incredible. I played the onsite golf course which was average but had nice views. The greens are unplayable it needs a bit of love although I wasn’t expecting much it’s free if you are a guest but it’ll cost around $35-$40 AUD to hire clubs balls and a pull buggy. The hotel is a taxi or bus away from most places but are very easy to grab and 150 vun pp, baby’s are free.

Cons The bar prices are expensive about 200 vuv more for a beer than anywhere else we visited. The room we stayed in was spacious but dark. The internet didn’t work in the room and very patchy everywhere. Also when we looked booking.com said our total bill was supposed to be $50 less than what we were charged our receipt had about a $27 card admin fee which I find ridiculous. And unsure where the rest of the difference was. The receptionist originally said because we had a baby but our booking says kids stay and play for free. Little Fees like that can leave a bit of a sour taste in you mouth when you leave but overall I would still recommend staying here. We didn’t eat at the restaurants there as they were much more expensive and the reviews weren’t great.
