Hidden gem in DC
This is a fantastic hidden gem. 1800s charm with just enough modern convenience. All the workers own the hotel so the spirit of assistance and hospitality is in every interaction with staff. I’ve stayed multiple times and would recommend to anyone coming to DC.
Quaint, comfortable and excellent service.
I had such a lovely 4 night stay. They made everything so easy (even helping with my big bag on the stairs). The dining room is delicious. I had a delicious egg sandwich one day and a ceasar salad another. Great service. Of course the fireplace bar is amazing as well. They had very clear instructions for using the nearby parking lot. My room was cleaned and tidied thoroughly each night. Will stay here again!
Step back in time!
The quaintness, most unique little hotel in Washington. I love that it has no TV’s and you’re encouraged to connect with people. Their tavern type lounge is packed with locals most nights and just has a “vibe” that can’t be explained. The employee owned staff is so kind and helpful! The food is 5-star! Don’t miss this hotel when you go to DC.
Best Hotel in DC, Hands down
Fabulous service, beautiful rooms, no screens (!!!!!), gentle music, delicious food and all the guests who come to the Tabard Inn are interesting people with whom to share a drink by the fire. All around great. Well done Tabard Inn.

Charming Inn with Great Location
A lovely old-school inn located in the heart of Dupont circle. This was one of the cheapest hotel options in DC the night I stayed, but it punched well-above its weight for quality and value. The room was spacious and the Inn location was walking distance to downtown, Dupont and Logan Circle. Customer service was great when I had an issue with my booking (not their fault; I booked through a third party). Didn’t have time to enjoy a meal in their restaurant, but it looked lovely. I look forward to staying here on my next trip to DC.
