I was comfortable in a very familiar place.
Theater district….I have stayed here several times over the past 25 years when my late husband was on a national board that met quarterly in NYC. I enjoy access to 5th Avenue, Broadway, museums etc. I consider 44th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues my NYC blocks.

Cons It was difficult to come by the car because the 6th Ave was closed for the street fair. It was very difficult to detect since Google maps didn't recognize it.

Very convenient location, near events and transportation. The staff (front desk, bar area, cleaning staff ... all) were friendly, helpful, and available ... excellent. The room was clean. The bed and bedding were very comfortable. I love that historic decor was retained over the years.
We will definitely return.
The renovation is really stunning. We were most disappointed that the cat had retired!
