Levendig hotel met goede kamers, maar niet voor rustzoekers

Ontvangst met glaasje bubbels. The Roxy is een heel levendig hotel met een gezellige, bruisende sfeer. Niet alleen hotelgasten, maar ook bezoekers van buitenaf komen er graag voor de bar, restaurants en cinema. Dat zorgt voor heel wat ambiance, maar ook voor behoorlijk wat drukte. Onze kamer met kingsize bed was voldoende ruim en werd elke dag netjes onderhouden. De airco maakte behoorlijk wat lawaai, maar had als voordeel dat hij het straatgeluid maskeerde. Jammer genoeg was er ’s nachts geen airco beschikbaar, wat toch een verschil maakt voor een goede nachtrust. Een tof hotel met veel sfeer, ruime en verzorgde kamers en heel wat leven in de brouwerij. Ideaal als je houdt van een bruisende omgeving, maar minder geschikt als je na een drukke dag in New York graag wat rust opzoekt.

Cons Vooral de muziek in de hotelbar vonden we echt te luid. Je moest bijna roepen om elkaar te kunnen verstaan. Wie op zoek is naar rust, is hier dus niet aan het juiste adres. Airco die ‘s nachts niet werkt De ligging vonden we persoonlijk iets minder ideaal. Het hotel ligt eerder richting Chinatown, terwijl wij liever wat dichter bij het bruisende hart van SoHo hadden gezeten.

Has a cool vibe and friendly staff. Great location for NYU parents.

Friendly staff, good location, nice room for traveling with teenagers who loved the pool table! We felt that it was a good value especially for a double room.

Cons The Roxy turned off the water on one night of our stay from 12pm-7am which was an unpleasant surprise as we were not told until that day and had late night plans.

It is terrifically located and the staff was very helpful

More like a resort, certainly a lively oasis with compaaionate, accomodating staff.

I loved the design of the hotel. Lots of spots to converse outside the room. Everything was planned with care and respect. I see the design as an homage to Cinema, with a place or respect reserved for other art forms. I loved the prints. The Django cellar was so cool. Loved the designated home and Roxy cover for the piano.
