Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort, by Hyatt

Great day experience in pools and at the beach but sub-par in-room experience

Breakfast was pretty good (regular buffet with scramble, fruits, oatmeal,...) but things like lattes/cappuccinos were charged as extras - given $50 breakfast price tag it's fair to expect this to be included (it's not something like alcoholic drinks). Pools and beach were great - awesome cascading pools, super responsive and helpful staff, free ice cream:) Awesome activities like boat trips to do snorkeling and turtles watching - really enjoyed it. Great location for sure.

Cons AC unit was constantly blowing us in the bed - even after 2 requests to adjust it I was feeling air flow on my face every time in the bed and was afraid to get sick b/c of it. We've a got a pretty big B52 cockroach (~2.5 inches long) in our room on one night and we were waiting 15 mins (during this time this thing was flying around me so I used my phone to fight it back) until staff came to get it. They changed bed cloth and were helpful but afterwards nobody from hotel management checked up on us or offered any help/room change/.... Looks like it's expected issue there but in this case guests should be warned about such possibility and/or some bug nets/screens installed on balcony doors.

High cost for poor service

Don't use their online check-in system or you won't receive any text communication. This is the reason the front desk explained why I didn't receive any communication. You are lucky if you get welcome drink and fresh towel during check-in but we didn't. Front desk service is horrible. Instead, I want to give credit to the staff help parking and luggage service. They are super helpful and professional. Running to get every car under the sun!

Best honeymoon

My husband and I absolutely loved the Andaz! We went for our honeymoon and it did not disappoint. From the start the front desk and valet staff were so kind - when we got to our room there was a bottle of wine and a message congratulating us on our honeymoon. So sweet! The entire resort was beautiful and gives a romantic serene feel. We saw many families and kids but it didn’t feel like there was an overwhelming amount. We were happy they had an adult only pool which was great if you wanted to be in a more relaxing and quiet setting. We loved the poolside food and drink service, and the pool attendants always had towels ready for us. Another great thing about the resort is the location. We loved there was a shopping mall in walking distance! They had upscale stores, coffee, gift shops, restaurants, etc. We also ate at both restaurants on site and they were fantastic!! Huge shout out to the staff - valet, ladies at the market, front desk, poolside staff, waiters and servers.. everyone was so so kind and helpful. Everyone seemed so happy to work there. We highly recommend to any honeymooners looking for a place in Maui!! We hope we can come back again!

Pool service lacking

Service at pool was not great. Our server acted like he was put out when we told him our food had a hair. Crazy for this caliber resort.

Amazing Resort

Amazing location, beautiful resort, lots of amenities and food options. Gluten friendly as well. Everyone working there was amazing, this is what truly made my trip. Had a wonderful experience. Beautiful sunsets

We had an incredible stay at the Andaz Maui while celebrating both our anniversary and our babymoon, and we would absolutely return. From the moment we arrived, the customer service stood out. A special thank you to **Hua** in valet, **Kamea** at the front desk, and **Nic** and **Aaron** at breakfast. Each of them made us feel genuinely welcomed, valued, and well taken care of throughout our stay. Their warmth and attentiveness truly elevated our experience. Breakfast at **Kaʻana Kitchen** was easily the highlight of our trip. We looked forward to it every morning. The food and service were 10/10—the variety was excellent, everything was fresh and flavorful, and the restaurant was very clean. We also celebrated our anniversary with dinner at Kaʻana Kitchen. While the dinner menu was smaller than we expected, our server gave fantastic recommendations, and every appetizer and entrée he suggested was excellent. My husband initially ordered the lemongrass chicken (which wasn't one of the recommended dishes) and found it to be too salty. The staff replaced it immediately without hesitation, and the new entrée was delicious. We really appreciated how quickly and professionally they handled it. The property itself is beautiful, peaceful, and incredibly well maintained. The pools, beach access, and overall atmosphere made it the perfect place to slow down and celebrate such a special season of life. As an expecting mom, I noticed several other couples enjoying babymoons as well, and it's easy to see why. The resort is relaxing, walkable, and has everything you need for a restful getaway. The location in Wailea is another huge plus. It's close to great restaurants and shopping, so it was easy to venture out for a meal while still returning to a quiet, luxurious retreat. Overall, this was a memorable stay with exceptional hospitality. Thank you again to Hua, Kamea, Nic, and Aaron for making our anniversary and babymoon so special. We can't wait to return!
