DO NOT BOOK ROOM 432

Cons Had the worst hotel experience of my life at Cavinton Hotel Malioboro, Yogyakarta. I stayed in Room 432, which was infested with cockroaches. I initially noticed a few small ones in the bathroom and ignored them. But at night, it became horrifying—cockroaches were running on the bed, and I found around 10 of them on the headboard. It was extremely traumatic and I could barely sleep. At around 11:30 PM, I went to reception and asked for a room change, specifically requesting a clean room. They moved me to Room 417, which was clean, and thankfully I did not see any bugs for the rest of my stay. The fact that the second room was completely fine makes me seriously question whether the hotel is aware that certain rooms have an infestation and continues assigning them to guests. To be fair, not all the staff were bad. The staff member who helped me change rooms late at night was helpful and handled the situation reasonably well. But that does not excuse the condition of Room 432. For a hotel of this standard, having cockroaches crawling on the bed and headboard is completely unacceptable. I would strongly recommend checking your room carefully before settling in, and I personally would not stay here again.
