Courtyard by Marriott Norfolk Downtown
The hotel is old and rundown with musty, dirty rooms that don't meet Marriott standards.

We'd likely stay here again when in Norfolk.
Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. The valet service was superb! Location, location, etc. in downtown. Access to public transportation, city attractions, especially, Glad you are able to help keep downtown alive!
Cons Everyone will be glad when the main elevator is in service. And all the ice machines. But still a great location, and served our purpose well. In the room, there was a tear in the carpeting, some wallpaper has come unglued, and there was a steady drip in the tub. Being somewhat older, I had a concern that the bathroom floor was quite slippery, wet or dry, unless wearing soft-soled shoes. But all that is fixable.
I paid far too much for what I received

Dear Courtyard Marriott Management, I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent stay at your hotel with my
Because it was a Marriott you will expect more, but it wasn’t
Cons Because you would no if you that is the Marriott, you shouldn’t have any problems to a certain extent
Not great
The front desk staff was helpful to an extent.
Cons As soon as we pulled up to the property to check in, valet told us that the AC wasn't working and we need to rebook our hotel stay somewhere else. We asked if we could park and talk to the front desk and the valet man did not want to park our car if we weren't interested in staying. We told him we were interested in staying, but wanted more information. It continued like this for awhile until we gave up and left, found street parking, and walked back to the hotel to talk to the front desk. We decided to stay despite the broken AC and it wasn't that bad - totally understandable that things happen, that's not the problem. The problem was valet's response. The room/bathroom was also dirty and the carpet was wet throughout the bedroom area.
