DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Detroit - Dearborn

Cons I get treated bad from the housekeeper in the hotel. She wake me up 8 o’clock in the morning. Tell me you have to leave now. We have to clean the room and she start Ola‘s name. You could check with Doubletree. I gotta claim there.

Ok hotel- just manage your expectations.

Booked on only a couple weeks notice so we didn’t have a ton of alternatives. Acceptable for the price but have low expectations. It’s a well-worn hotel that seems short on staff. The hallway leading from the main lobby area back to the elevators was a bit littered and sticky as if it didn’t get cleaned often. Our room was decent, the TV system was nice. There were two different light switches that were broken, bathroom vent looked very dirty, the bathtub ‘paint’ was peeling, and the hallways often had piles of towels and/or trash placed outside rooms. Ice machines on our floor and the floor above were both out of order, so had to go one down to get ice. Our last night there was a domestic argument happening loudly two doors away which was a little concerning. I went down to the front desk to get more bathroom tissue which they didn’t have there, but said they would send up to our room, then never did. The few employees we did see were otherwise nice.

Will never stay there again front desk very tacky to help

The property still has not returned my $100 deposit stating they have but it’s still showing up on my credit card. I would like to have my deposit back.

Cons Again, the property did not return my $100 deposit stated to me that they did spoke to my credit card company looked on my statement. It is not been refunded.

Doubletree that isn't like the others.

I liked the location. The lobby was very pretty.

Cons The room i was in was next to the ice machine and community microwave. I had unfortunately overheard staff complaining about the fact that it had been draining and leaking for over a year and management had done nothing about it not necessarily sure if it's management or the owner however this is a conversation I heard outside of my door while also smelling the mildew in my room. The shower had mold in it. The shower head was clogged in some places. The actual room floor was really dirty. One of the pillows i had was stained with something i never saw before and had yo physically remove the pillow from the room. Upside, the two black women were kind to me.

Is Anyone Home?

We arrived at about 5PM. There was no one at the front desk. They eventually showed up. USB ports in guestroom did not work and staff knew it but I had to make a trip to the front desk to get a wall plug after figuring it out. One elevator out of four working during our stay. I used the steps from floor five. Lobby furniture was filthy as was the exterior of the hotel around the pool area. Pool water did not appear to be circulating for cleaning. Breakfast was ordered off a menu but there was only ever one server. Power was out at one point during the night. Guestroom was fine: some hallway noise but otherwise quiet. AC was OK and the shower was great. This property seems to be understaffed and with little or no attention being paid to common areas. I would not stay there again and would advise others to avoid it under its current management/condition. It hurts the brand.
