Galle Face Hotel

A wonderful way to see old world Colombo and experience true Sri Lankan hospitality.

We treated ourselves to a night at Galle Face Hotel for our last night in Sri Lanka and we weren't disappointed. We were pleased to be given an upgrade to an Ocean View room by the lovely front desk staff, Ivoni, Belinda and Maduka made us feel very special and welcome. The dinner and breakfasts were fantastic and very reasonably priced considering the location and quality. We will strongly recommend the Galle Face Hotel experience to any friends visiting Colombo in future.

Very memorable

Dharshi was great and very helpful and almost all chefs spoke to me and asked if I was happy with the buffet. Karvindhya looked after us so well seeing to our needs during breakfasts. Both breakfast and dinners were excellent. Thanks for your hospitality Cheers Dayani

Charming and the breakfast is very homely

Cons First room they given me is very bad .long walk and steps and and isolated. Bath inside the shower and and getting in to the bath was very difficult no steps and very high. After I complained next day they changed me to a room with shower only and next to the lift.

Perfect

The upgrade to a large balcony right on the ocean front was a fantastic start to a really enjoyable stay in such a treasure of a hotel. There is nothing you could want for. Great place to unwind after 2,222km driving a tuktuk around the entire country.

Excellent property needs a little love

I love staying at Galle Face but it is also looking run down and in need of upliftment

Cons The toilets for guests in the outdoor bar as well as those connected to the 1864 bar were disgustingly dirty and smelly and i couldnt believe how run down they were
