Great location! The room was spacious, modern, and clean.
Cons The bed was very hard and uncomfortable.
Exceptional staff & comfortable, clean rooms
It was my 2nd time staying here & both times were exceptional. The hotel & room was incredible but the staff really made the experience exceptional.
Cons We missed housekeeping each day during our stay because we were in the room. We were pretty tidy but a room refresh would have been appreciated during the 3 night stay
Overall, I’d consider the Hilton downtown an excellent choice for the area and would easily recommend it to anyone rich
While the price of a hotel room in Vancouver is among the most ridiculous in the world, the hotel can’t be blamed for that and this this particular Hilton is a rare example of a US based chain that still loves up to its old reputation of a quality chain. I would note that the parking rate increased $13 since the first email they sent me before World Cup but I’m sure all of Vancouver used the event as an excuse to permanently increase astronomically high prices a bit more. It makes no sense to have a car anyway in a walkable city so don’t bother. Like most older hotels in downtown, the interior and furniture in the rooms is dated but unlike most once great US chain hotels, it’s not worn, dirty or falling apart. We stayed in a city view room on the 30th floor with a great view of BC Place. The suite is not huge and the bedroom is kind of small but in general it’s roomy enough. The kind bed and pillows are comfortable and the Crabtree and Evelyn bath products are nice. The rain shower is a nice perk. People complain about the small lobby but I’m not sure why. Special shout out to the rather young staff. They’re always available and were obviously trained to be very accommodating during World Cup events. We had issues with the air con due to an unusually hot day and they upgraded us immediately to a room with less sun exposure. We only had an hour until we had to leave for a concert and they got us in very quickly. Customer service is often non existent in hospitality today so I’d consider our experience a pleasant one off. The building is narrow so the elevators are small and there’s only two but wait times were not a problem. Accordingly, the square footage of the registration area is small compared to many large hotels but I didn’t see this as a problem at all. The hotel has an above average fitness room that’s available 24 hours with multiple ellipticals, bikes, treadmills, full weights and a few machines. It’s open 24/7 which is a nice perk.
Cons Furniture is a bit dated. Air con isn’t strong enough on high floors if daytime temps exceed 25.
