We had a nice time visiting family who stayed in the same hotel. I would however have great deal trouble recommending it
Lovely venue. Pleasant. Service was good.
Cons Labeled handicapped accessible and yet…. I walk with a walker. I had to deal with stepping over a 2 ft tub wall to get into the tub There was no walk-in shower. The bathroom door was very heavy and wide. Difficult to manage. I ended up not always being able to shut the bathroom door when using the bathroom. Valet parking was not truly valet. We pulled up. A valet helped me out of the car but did not retrieve my walker. No one helped my husband get a trolly or load it with our luggage or make any attempt to assist us in getting our luggage to the 9th floor. The only true handicapped adjective to our room was its close proximity to the elevator.
Unique place to stay when passing through
The hotel is beautiful, very historic and nostalgic. The player-piano in the lobby adds charm. It’s in a perfect location on Main Street, making it easy to go for a walk and browse in the numerous cute shops. The restaurant is lovely and we enjoyed a nice dinner. The rooms are small (expected in a historic hotel)and beautifully decorated.
Cons The staff at the reception desk we not welcoming. I stood waiting for several minutes while one attendant chatted with someone and the other just stood there. They didn’t acknowledge me at all while I was waiting, and then were a bit surly when trying to find my reservations.
Perfect stop over on our way to our Grandson's baseball tournament in Reading PA.
We enjoyed everything about our stay.
