Characteristic old boutique hotel in centre Oaxaca

Beautiful hotel in old monastery right in the centre of Oaxaca. We booked the master suite for our family and had a good time. The hotel is decorated with big plants and strange art, which gives it a unique atmosphere. Quality of the beds are outstanding and the valet parking of our car was more than welcome! Refreshing swimming pool in the patio of this boutique hotel.

Cons Price is high, but maybe because of the rising star of Oaxaca as an international destination for culinary travelers. Hotel crew (f e cleaners) make a lot noise in the early morning (from 6 am) so that could wake you up. Bathroom is small and a bit outdated. No elevators available, no problem for us but maybe for older people

Cons Everything is very outdated. Yes, there are lots of nice decor details to check out, but the street it's on is very loud and the bathroom was just pretty unpleasant to be honest

The property looks very different from the pictures online. It appears much older and not as well maintained as advertised. The beds did not look clean, and it seems like the towels may have been previously used and not replaced. I’m also very concerned about the security of the property. The entrance door can easily be opened and closed, which makes it seem like anyone could enter at any time. Overall, the condition and cleanliness of the property did not meet my expectations based on the online listing.

Cons The staff was not friendly at all. They told me that I have to pay 250 pesos extra for the crib which was not disclosed and that every other person that comes with me is 300 pesos more at the end of the day is not about the money. It’s about the way they make you sign a disclosure that is in Spanish so if you don’t speak the language, they don’t have in English and they don’t allow you to take a picture for your security
