The location is excellent, we had our wedding there. The personnel went above and beyond with helping with the planning, flowers, food (really good), and setup.

Cons The breakfast had these little breads that I did not like so much.

O hotel fica no centro histórico e perto de pontos turísticos. A equipe foi extremamente simpática e solícita. Nos ajudou quando precisamos, nos deixaram uma garrafa de vinho de presente e foram muito amáveis ao, inclusive, nos enviar mensagens em português.

Cons O hotel tem 4 andares. Meu quarto ficava no 3o andar. O problema é que o 4o andar é alugado para eventos. Eu, que estava hospedada para relaxar (e não pagamos pouco por isso) não conseguia dormir com barulho altíssimo até a madrugada - som de microfone, gritos, música e PISADAS que faziam um barulho absurdo no quarto. Achei isso um absurdo! Caso você vá se hospedar, garanta que não farão evento no hotel na mesma data.

Cons Nothing - it was all lovely

Outstanding Service in the Heart of Quito’s Old Town

The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the Old Town and within easy walking distance of many attractions. Our bed was very comfortable, and we had a room with a balcony and a wonderful view. What impressed us most, however, was the truly top-notch service. I’d like to share three examples that made our stay especially memorable. We arrived from Mashpi Lodge, whose shuttle could only drop us off at a nearby hotel because Plaza Grande was not on their drop-off list. The Plaza Grande staff came over to meet us and helped transfer all of our luggage to the hotel, making the arrival completely effortless. Another day, we had some leftover food and simply asked whether there was a microwave we could use to reheat it. Instead, the staff took the food to Café Plaza Grande, reserved a table for us, reheated it, and served it beautifully. We were so impressed by the thoughtfulness and level of care. Finally, on our last day, we had a midnight flight. After checking out and spending the afternoon exploring the Old Town, we returned to the hotel with about two hours to wait before our ride to the airport. When I asked if there might be a more comfortable place for us to spend the time, the staff opened the top floor for us so we could relax and enjoy the beautiful evening view over the illuminated Plaza de la Independencia. These thoughtful touches went far beyond what we expected and made us feel genuinely cared for. The beautiful location, comfortable room, fantastic view, and especially the outstanding service made our stay at Plaza Grande truly memorable. We would absolutely stay here again.

Wonderful location and hotel

The breakfast was wonderful. It is not a buffet but one orders from a menu so allow ample time for breakfast. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom thoughtfully laid out. Staff were especially good. They can get you a taxi to the airport for $20. Food in the dining room was reasonably priced and delicious. One of my favorite hotels in the world.

Cons I wish the hotel had availability for our return to Quito, but alas it was booked.
