Hotel Reykjavík Grand

It was worth staying for the breakfast included. The view of building construction wasn't nice.

Breakfast was very good plenty of variety, staff pleasant. The lounge staff were great, however they need to have more seating for 2 people rather than just for groups. It was a large room. For Canadians we found it expensive. The burgers excellent. I wish I had the recipe for the sauce on them.

Cons The cost of taxis is exorbitant. We liked Iceland but too expensive to return.

Cons We are getting used to Iceland’s high prices — so it’s not this hotel, just the overall cost of travel here. It was expensive for us — we don’t usually spend this much for a hotel.

Rooms were well equipped

Cons The major construction project that was going on directly under our room. It was a huge deal. We didn’t receive any word about at check in and discovered it was going on when we looked out the window when we arrived to the room. We mentioned it to the front desk and the said that the construction never started before 8 in the morning. Both days it started es at 730. We brought up our displeasure with the front desk and the gave us a business card to complain to the management. The construction is in its beginning stages so a warning to anyone who plan on staying in September/Ictober.
