Nice room, avoid the restaurant

The location is handy on the island  - we chose to stay here because of the location and having a pool. Pool was fine - slightly odd location being almost in the restaurant and was very cold, but it was fine. Room itself was very modern and comfortable with good toiletries/complimentary items. Felt secure. Excellent breakfast buffet which they opened slightly early for us due to an early flight - this was much appreciated.

Cons Found staff a little over bearing at times. We ate in the restaurant for ease and wish we hadn't- food wasn't great, 2 dishes were inedible due to being very salty. Instead of just knocking them off the bill they kept bringing more food alternatives we hadn't ordered and didn't want. It was very awkward and caused a big delay, I wouldn't eat here again.

The best ending to our honeymoon

As soon as we walked through the door, the attentiveness, the smell, cleanliness and welcoming staff were exceptional. We were treated like royalty. We had done a 5 day safari tour elsewhere and just needed a stop over for 1 night closer to the airport. I saw pictures of the hotel and read reviews but the level of attentiveness exceeded all expectations. We arrived approx 12.30pm, greeted with a cold towel to refresh ourselves with and a mocktail but our room wasnt ready until 3pm. The reception staff Makuni & Brenda were so lovely and upgraded our room to a suite & asked my husband if he would like them to decorate the suite with petals as a surprise. To save us waiting in the lobby, Emanuel took us to the restaurant and said it was complimentary as his guests as we were only Bed & Breakfast. The service in the restaurant was a tad overwhelming but only because they wanted to help and be at service so was understandable. The food was delicious. We then spent the afternoon resting in our room and making the most of having the upgrade. We had a plate of goodies and a card delivered to our room to enjoy which was really sweet. Approx 7pm we went to dinner, there was a singer and football on which was really nice and chilled. George was our waiter, he made us feel very special, there was complimentary wine (for the ladies on a wednesday), complimentary soup before dinner along with popcorn & nuts. My husband had a curry and I had a pizza - yummy! The beds were really comfy, air con rooms and TV to watch a film. Breakfast was really nice, lots of selection and varied dishes. Check out was 10am and not 10.30am as per Booking.com so we were a little late but it wasn't an issue. The staff had arranged our transfer to the airport and were very helpful with our bags and check out.

Cons The location wasn't great, a very busy and loud road and also a praying temple which was really loud but that was only minor as everything else out weighed the negative.
