Everything! It’s my favorite hotel in Santa Monica! I haven’t been here in some years and the improvements (sauna, pool etc.) are a great addition.

Santa Monica is becoming a non destination and people are forgetting the basics of hospitality and not well trained comp
Nice location- close to bluffs overlooking the ocean, and close to restaurants along ocean avenue. I would normally say close to 3rd street promenade but that’s no longer a safe nor desirable spot given the homeless and all the stores that are no longer in business ( just empty buildings along the street and no shopping)
Cons The front desk staff. At check out there was a young guy perched back on his chair with one leg crossed totally reclined and engaged in a casual conversation and ignoring me completely with luggage in hand. There was no one else behind the desk. He acted like he did me a favor to take a key and didn’t offer a closing statement. He was pompous and totally unaware and frankly disrespectful.
