Hyatt Place Charlotte Downtown

This hotel seem to be going down for some reason. I stayed here last year and it was amazing. Rooms were great the stay overall was really great but this time it just seem like the room I had looked like a motel 6 room. It definitely wasn’t as nice as the last one I had.

Front desk staff was helpful and fixed any problems that occurred.

Cons We checked into a room that smelled like mold. The carpet was wet and that's what caused the odor. Had to change rooms at 4 in the morning.

Cons Need more staff working valet because everyone checked out about the same time and the staff did a great job under prressure.

Don’t think I’d stay here again. Not worth the price we paid.

Cons Hotel appears very dated. Could certainly use an upgrade on their furnishings especially for the price…

Hyatt Place - I’ll be back!

The location of this hotel was excellent—central to the city, with easy access to the highway. There were plenty of restaurants nearby, as well as a Whole Foods within walking distance. The service was also excellent. The front desk staff were consistently polite, friendly, and genuinely invested in making sure I had a positive stay. Quality of the room was lovely and the cost for the value was appropriate. However, I had two areas of concern. First, the quality of the breakfast was subpar and did not meet my expectations. Second, parking was valet-only and came at an additional cost, separate from the customary tip for the valet attendants. While I have no issue tipping the attendants for their service, I was disappointed that hotel parking itself required an additional fee. Overall, I enjoyed the location and appreciated the excellent service, but the breakfast quality and added parking expense detracted from an otherwise positive experience.
