Best resort and hotel I ever had!!!

Stunningly beautiful place with some problems

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights as part of a family trip to Thailand. Although there are beautiful sites at Pattaya (the floating market is a must!), in retrospect I would skip Pattaya and stay in the islands but there is lot's to do for families with kids though the good attractions are quite expensive. The hotel is stunning. Beautiful green areas, very clean and luxurious. We were given a basic room, not as we expected from such an expensive hotel. The shower didn't work well, there were no towels when we arrived and also one time after cleaning. We asked and they brought us quickly but these little things are supposed to be perfect in such a hotel. Our room in general looked outdated, old style. We asked for an upgrade but they wouldn't upgrade us saying that the hotel was fully booked. It didn't seem fully booked. The hotel's grounds are amazing. Beautiful areas and pools. A wonderful serenity pool. The main restaurant was very good though not cheap. We also used the Italian restaurant by the pools which was good but with very limited selection. The hotel is located uphill so there are a lot of stairs to and from the pool. We didn't mind but it can be challenging for people who struggle. The hotel is at the outskirts of the city center so you have to use taxis and grab/bolt etc. The hotel has a shuttle to the city malls. Overall, I would recommend this place more for couples than families though our 8 year-old enjoyed himself and kept himself busy. I had a massage at the hotel's spa which was wonderful. The hospitality and the treatment itself were great.

First impressions are often about smiles, aren't they?

I have the opportunity to stay here every year, and each time I have a positive experience and leave with a great impression. This has made me a regular guest, and I can't bring myself to stay anywhere else. I especially enjoy the club lounge because the cocktail hour starts at 8 PM, which is a perfect time for me. All the staff here are excellent, except for one person in the club lounge nicknamed JJ. You know what? Throughout my entire stay, I never saw a smile from her. No welcome, no farewell, no smile, no laughter, no greeting to guests of any nationality. All I heard from her was, "What would you like?" Yes, she was doing her job, but she lacked the heart to serve. I saw other staff members chatting and interacting with guests of all nationalities; she was the only one who was so reserved and made me feel uncomfortable. Even the staff at the outdoor restaurants, the main restaurant upstairs, and the pool staff made me feel good about returning here. I don't understand why someone with this kind of personality is assigned to the club lounge, serving guests. Someone with that personality would be better suited for accounting or office work, where they wouldn't have to interact with anyone and wouldn't feel forced to work there. Anyway, I hope the hotel will listen to my feedback. I just don't want a small number of people to tarnish the reputation of the hotel I love.

More than a beautiful resort – genuine hospitality from the heart

Our experience at the InterContinental Pattaya Resort did not begin when we arrived. It began with the warm, thoughtful and genuinely personal communication we received while planning a very special birthday celebration. Even before we checked in, we already had the feeling that we were looking forward to something truly special. From the moment we arrived, someone immediately welcomed us, took care of our luggage and made us feel at ease. At reception, we were greeted with genuine warmth, and the receptionist even told us that she had assigned us her favourite room. It was one of many small moments that made us feel valued as guests rather than simply processed as arrivals. The resort itself is beautiful. The tropical gardens are meticulously maintained, the pool areas are peaceful and inviting, and our room was elegant, spacious and exceptionally comfortable. We also greatly appreciated being able to check in earlier than expected, allowing us to enjoy even more of this wonderful property. What truly sets this resort apart, however, is something that cannot simply be designed or built. It is the people. Throughout our stay, we experienced a level of genuine warmth and hospitality that is becoming increasingly rare. Every interaction felt natural and sincere rather than scripted. Whether we met the Customer Relations team, restaurant staff, gardeners or security colleagues, everyone greeted us warmly and made us feel genuinely welcome. One small moment perfectly reflects the culture of this resort. When it started raining after dinner, umbrellas were already waiting outside the restaurant for guests. It was such a simple gesture, yet it demonstrated how naturally your team thinks ahead and quietly takes care of its guests. We noticed many thoughtful details like this throughout our stay. The highlight of our visit was celebrating my girlfriend’s birthday at Elements Restaurant. The evening was simply exceptional. Our table had been thoughtfully arranged to create a quiet and intimate atmosphere. The service was attentive without ever being intrusive, and every course arrived with perfect timing. The Chinese wonton soup was excellent, while the Australian tenderloin steak was, without exaggeration, the best steak I have ever eaten. I personally asked the team to pass my compliments to the chef because it truly deserved to be recognised. Throughout the evening, the restaurant team surprised us with several thoughtful birthday gestures that made my girlfriend feel incredibly special. Seeing her so happy was the greatest gift I could have received. As someone working in a leadership position myself, I naturally pay attention to how teams work together. What impressed me most was seeing employees who genuinely seemed to enjoy working alongside one another. They smiled, supported each other and created an atmosphere that naturally extended to every guest. Hospitality like this cannot simply be trained; it reflects a culture that is lived every single day. This stay was certainly not inexpensive. However, I have stayed at other resorts in a similar price category where the facilities were equally impressive, yet the experience felt much more anonymous. Here, we never felt like room numbers or customers. We felt like welcome guests. For us, that made all the difference. Our sincere thanks go to everyone who contributed to making this birthday so unforgettable. We left with wonderful memories that we will cherish for many years. Without hesitation, we wholeheartedly recommend the InterContinental Pattaya Resort to anyone looking not only for a beautiful place to stay, but for genuine hospitality delivered with warmth, professionalism and heart.
