Excellent, spacious and regal rooms, great service, and an unbeatable location at a premium price
The room truly lived up to its “Royal” name—very spacious, elegant, and thoughtfully designed. It was beautifully lit by two large windows offering a great view of the Capitol Hill building. There was plenty of room to move around and comfortably accommodate all our luggage, with ample tables, chairs, and stands. The bathroom, bar amenities, and wardrobe were neatly tucked away in a separate alcove, making the room feel even more spacious and well organised. The location was excellent, and the hotel lobby was another highlight. It was a beautiful space to relax and take in the impressive ceiling details, grand pillars, classic furniture, and elegant interiors. The same timeless design continued through to the hotel’s fine-dining restaurants, giving the property a truly classic and luxurious feel.
Cons I wish the valet parking ($78 per night) were more reasonably priced, or that a self-parking option were available, especially since the Willard Building, which includes dedicated parking floors used by the valet service, is shared with the property. A self-parking option there would have been a much more convenient and cost-effective alternative.
It was absolutely beautiful!
Cons I enjoyed everything! There was construction going on which no one likes but necessary to keep up with the restorations of a beautiful, historic building.
Beautiful and very comfortable hotel.
Beautiful and very comfortable hotel. Great location. I enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea while there. The bed was wonderful and the bathtub was long enough to fully stretch out.
Cons We had to pay an amenities fee even though we didn’t use any amenities. It irritates me that these expensive hotels nickel and dime you for everything.
