A 3 star hotel pretending to be a 5 star.

Great location as you’re in a busy shopping district by Pavillon plus indoor walkways over to KLCC area. But the rooms need improvements as they are old, battered and dirty.

Cons This is a 3 star hotel pretending to be a 5 star. I stayed in this hotel a decade ago and came back recently for merdeka and we also stayed in the Shanghai one as part of the same trip. The Cabana Pool side rooms in KL haven’t changed much and need some tlc. The beds are rock hard and leave you with a sore back, the wardrobes need repairing or at least that was our experience in our pool side cabana room 6009. The rooms and bed linens do not smell fresh and the electric kettle for example came with left over residue from previous tenants, possibly people cooking food in the kettle but left for us like that. We cleaned it up for them but you’d think this stuff would be checked. Avoid in-room dining as it’s appalling, for example we ordered a pizza having arrived late in from a flight. They came with a frozen pizza from a supermarket and charged us €22 for it 😂. It was so bad that it was quite funny. I don’t think we’ll ever forget it 😂 Likewise the breakfast is pretty poor by KL standards especially the coffee, even petrol station machines make better. We did stay during merdeka so maybe that explains why everything was a little under par as the place was packed. The pool does also have a bar but oddly they don’t have fridges for the soft drinks even though KL is 33degrees+. They will give you ice but thought that was a little odd and just reinforces that the service standards at this hotel are maybe not that high due the sheer volume of people that pass through it.

Cons Sometimes a bit long to be assisted at front desk. Also a long walk towards the guest rooms if you are located at the inner part of hotel away from guest elevators.
