Le Méridien Lav, Split

Totally awesome

Nice beach for relaxing, enjoying sunset and morning jogging. Excellent spa centre with various thermal and sauna facilities. Good breakfast and restaurants of choices. We spent two nights in Split old city before moving to Le Meridien. Staying all time in hotel to relax and enjoy the view and the facilities. It is really good arrangement.

Cons When i was doing check in they told it wasnt paid while it was fully paid, parking was 20 euro a day, really expensive paid 1900 euro for 3 nights, breakfast was really bad benedict egg as well wasnt free of charge, even if you wanted fresh juice thats insane!!! everything is expensive, the room was old.

9/10 — Very enjoyable stay

We had a very nice stay at this hotel. Everything was very clean, the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming, and the service overall was excellent. The breakfast was great, with very friendly service and staff always available to help. Our room was also very clean and comfortable. That said, in my opinion, the hotel doesn’t quite feel like a five-star hotel by today’s standards. It may have been a true five-star property 15 years ago, but the rooms and some areas of the hotel are now showing their age and would benefit from updating and refurbishment. This is the main reason I wouldn't rate it a full five-star experience. However, the cleanliness and service are excellent, and the staff really make a difference. One recommendation if you are staying here: Omiš is only about 20 minutes away by car and is a fantastic place to visit in the evening. There are many excellent restaurants and cafés, especially for good food by the water, and it’s lovely to walk around at night. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider coming back.

Cons The main disappointment was the sea-view room. We originally booked a room advertised as having a sea view, but after changing rooms once, the second room still had a very limited view of the sea. You had to look over the shops, restaurants/cafés and trees in front of the hotel to see the sea. For me, a proper sea-view room should have a clear view of the sea rather than just being able to see it in the distance. Another thing to be aware of is noise at night, particularly at the weekend. Because there are restaurants, cafés and shops directly in front of the hotel, when they close for the night there can be quite a lot of noise from cleaning up, moving things around and throwing empty glasses into the bins. This continued quite late and could be disturbing if you are trying to sleep.
