Lovely, comfortable room, but very disappointing spa experience considering it was the main reason we booked this room.
The room itself was very good. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for the weekend, including a microwave, stovetop, fridge, sink and tea and coffee facilities. The bed was comfortable, the shower had great pressure and being able to park right outside the room made arriving and leaving really easy.
Cons We specifically booked this room and paid more because it included a private spa pool, so unfortunately this was a big disappointment. When we arrived, the spa was completely empty, uncovered and did not look particularly clean. We had expected a functioning spa pool that would be ready to use, and I could not find anything in the Booking.com listing explaining that guests would need to clean and fill it themselves. My partner asked reception about it and mentioned that it did not look clean. He was told it was fine and was given a towel to clean it himself. We then started filling it, but it took so long that we had to leave for dinner before it was ready. When we came back, the water had drained away because the plug was not sealing properly. The following day, a very lovely member of the cleaning team helped us try several different plugs before we finally found one that held the water. We eventually managed to fill the spa and use it, but the jets were very weak and after they had been running for a while the water looked dirty, so it was not a particularly enjoyable experience and we only used it once. I think this could have been handled much better. At check in it would have helped enormously to be told that the spa would be empty and needed to be filled before use. More importantly, for a room advertised and priced with a private spa pool, I would expect it to be clean, functional and ready for guests to enjoy.
