The Staff

The main strength of Piedra de Agua is its staff. Yes-the building is lovely, classic, a great blend of old and new and the amenities were great from the soaps to the linens to the towels. But the best part of the stay was the attitude of and the treatment by the incredible staff. Daniel made us feel like family and seems to have trained the staff very well. Melanie, Jessica?, Hansen, and Oliver in Maintenance were friendly, engaging and super helpful. We look forward to our next visit to Merida and our next stay at Piedra de Agua. Amazing architecture with beautiful original feel!

200 year old classy hotel right in the heart of the historic district. The hotel takes you back in time as it was restored but not made to be contemporary, which is a good thing! Beautiful property with original marble, moldings and fixtures throughout. Great breakfast that comes with the room and the hotel is a good value overall. Stunning outdoor area with amazing garden and lovely pool. The staff are fantastic!

Wonderful stay clean and beautiful The breakfast was great we had avocado toast the first day that was the best but sadly they were out the rest of our stay Easy walking to everything They mentioned a anniversary surprise but even without that presented during Our stay we felt like special guests daily

El personal muy amable

I paid extra for the presidential suite for the tub, and on the first night there was no hot water for a bath or a shower. The TV was not functional, and there were noisy guests outside my room at 2-3 AM. The hotel is already on a busy street and has city/street noise but waking up in the middle of the night to the people being loud with no consideration of other guests made it impossible to get a full night’s sleep. Overall it was a beautiful hotel but clearly outdated with its plumbing and infrastructure. Only AC units no central AC, and no hot water is very disappointing for the price that I paid for this boutique hotel.
