What a remarkable stay in this hotel, where every detail evokes its history. Everything is refined and thoughtfully designed, and the staff show a level of attentiveness rarely found in other hotels of this category. We had mentioned when booking that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and on arrival the butler told us the hotel had upgraded us. A huge thank you for this lovely gesture!

Cons Perhaps just one small drawback: the air conditioning in the room is rather noisy, so it would be nice to have earplugs available in the bathroom.

Nous avons passé 24h exceptionnelles au Grand Hôtel d’Angkor. L’hôtel est magnifique (la piscine, en particulier, est spectaculaire), et les chambres très confortables avec une literie d’exception. Mais surtout, l’équipe était attentionnée, aux petits soins. Nous avons rarement été aussi bien accueillis dans un hôtel. Nous remercions toute l’équipe d’avoir rendu ce moment si magique ! Le petit déjeuner était délicieux, ainsi que les cocktails de l’Eléphant Bar.

Would love to return and enjoy the hotel when in more robust health

The service, the knowing my name, the care they took as I was sick for my entire stay, the beauty of the old colonial architecture and the painstaking eye for detail in maintaining and upkeeping tradition.

Cons The air conditioner in my first room blew damp musty air, which didn’t help with my respiratory ailment, but the hotel moved me to a dryer bigger room with a dehumidifier. They were sincerely apologetic and couldn’t do enough to help to resolve the situation.

Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor is perhaps one of the best places in the world to experience old-world charm, the comforts of a bygone era and beautifully preserved, period-authentic details. We spent a week here and absolutely loved it. We were upgraded to a lovely suite overlooking the pool and the wonderfully lush grounds. Even the vintage elevator, beautifully maintained and still in use, was a small joy every time we stepped into it! The location is hard to beat...right in the heart of Siem Reap and wonderfully close to the temple circuit. After a day exploring Angkor, coming back to the quiet elegance of the Raffles and its massive pool was always a pleasure. Breakfast was another highlight. The buffet was superb, but what really impressed us was the warmth and attentiveness of the team. The chef and service staff went out of their way to accommodate our individual dietary preferences and even off-menu requests, doing so with genuine ease and care. That level of personalised attention is rare and was executed flawlessly. The team is exceptionally well trained, yet the service feels warm, natural and deeply personal. The Raffles manages that increasingly rare combination of history, elegance, comfort and genuine hospitality. We would happily return for the people, the place and the perfection The Raffles embodies.
