Cons Airconditioning was useless. 4:30am fire alarm evacuation wasn’t pleasant either. Luckily a false alarm. Shower head was clogged causing jets to put out high pressure water.

Cons Bathroom was not good and some cleaning issues we had like there is no water in the room no complementary snacks and kettle was dirty

Great stay close to everything

Location was an easy walk to the geysers and traditional dinner, pool was great, and kids room was fun

Horrific experience and a big mistake- we should have slept in the hire car!!

Cons We were very disappointed and disgusted as we had a great stay at the Rydges in Wellington on the 15th Floor, which included breakfast, a beautiful view of the harbour and a modern room. We paid far less there than what we paid for this dump!! The photos on the website are very deceiving as the room we were given, was more like a 40 year old room and looked nothing like the photo's online - or like a typical Rydges!!! It was so dated and was not clean at all. The tiny, sketchy room had a view of the outdoor air con units, loading bays, a staff carpark and inside was vermiculite ceilings, a rusty old-school shower curtain over the bath and sticky bathroom floors, a bed that dipped in the middle, sheets that made me scratch all night and not get any sleep at all, not to mention the disgusting thick black hairs embedded in the towels. We definitely overpaid for this place and I would NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE!! I wish I had of looked at the room first as there were other hotels in the area over $150 cheaper per night for a much nicer looking room. Rydges Rotorua, you should be ashamed of your brand and reputation and head office needs to go to have a night stay in room 119 to get the full horrific experience.
