Sheraton Quito Hotel

Frustrating lack of communication before during and after my stay.

It was clean. That is the best thing I can say. I stayed here because it was part of a tour we had booked through Road Scholar. Added two nights before our trip to see more of Quito. This turned me off Sheraton and the entire Bonvoy system. This hotel will not appear on the Bonvoy app and Bonvoy told me they know this and they don't seem to care. Communication with this hotel is impossible. I tried to get in touch with them before I got there and nothing worked. Food was not very good and they were unresponsive to questions while I was there. They checked me out after the first two nights and I could not get into my room. I never got a receipt and (once again) nothing worked to contact them. They even sent me a survey, which I responded to by asking for a receipt. Nothing. It's like the place does not exist. I therefore will never get credit for the points I should have earned. Considering cancelling my Bonvoy card and just staying away from the entire Marriot / Sheraton / Bonvoy system entirely. Frustrating.

Road Scholar visit

The rooms were very good, clean and comfortable. I was not happy with the meals. I was with Road Scholar so we had limited selection for meals. he first night I had the fish and it was over cooked and dry. I find this often and usually ask for it to be medium. The second night I had the filet and it was very tough. i had asked for it medium rare and it was well done. I realize that would probably have been different if It was not part of a mass serving.

Great start to a holiday in Ecuador

Stayed as part of an organised tour. It was about an hour from the airport and is situated very close to a luxury shopping centre and about 6 stops on the train to the old town. Rooms are spacious and welcoming, staff are extremely friendly and helpful, breakfast could fill you up for the day and the in house restaurant pretty good too. The bed was comfortable and if it weren't for the altitude headache acclimatisation, I'd have slept very well. The shower is luxurious with plenty of toiletries and thick towels provided. Coffee in the rooms is not great, but you can always go down to the bar and buy one, though it's not cheap. Two bottles of water are provided in the room.

Would be nice to have a refrigerator or at least access to an ice bucket and ice.

This is my second stay at this hotel, and I am extremely satisfied with their service, the facilities, and the central location. Will definitely return here if visiting Quito again.
