Wonderful stay

I had a wonderful stay at Sofitel Strasbourg Grande Île. The highlight was definitely the Front Office team. From arrival to departure, everyone was welcoming, professional, smiling, and genuinely helpful. A very special thanks to Sami, the Director of Rooms, for being so welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. He kindly offered me a room upgrade and even arranged a room change when I needed one, which I really appreciated. The breakfast service was also excellent, and the team was very friendly and attentive. The only small downside was that some of the rooms could benefit from renovation, but I was pleased to hear that renovations are planned for the future. Overall, it was a great experience, and I will definitely come back. Sofitel Strasbourg Grande Île is now my place to stay whenever I’m in Strasbourg. Thank you to the whole team for your warm hospitality!

5 * staff and an amazing stay

What can I say it has been an amazing experience from the start. I have to start with Lou on reception, she has been fabulous and so helpful on many occasions, she is a credit to the hotel. Then there is the concierge Matthias amazingly attentive and very helpful in arranging trips. What blew us away was the thoughtfulness of Lou and Matthias, it was mine and my partners birthday and they gave us such a personalised surprise in our room by creating a map of our road trip we have been on and leaving it in our room with a ribbon round but it didn't end there. We went out for dinner and came back to champagne and treats in our room. All I can say is thank you a million times for making our birthdays so special. The location is perfect, the carpark is under the hotel. We were staying in a junior suite and could not fault it. We will definitely be back.

The hotel itself was nice and had good potential. The smart TV in the room was excellent and very convenient to use.

Cons I had high expectations, but unfortunately, the reality was disappointing. The cleanliness was below expectations, with a lot of dust, the bathroom was smelly. The breakfast was very basic, with limited variety and almost no hot food apart from the omelette. Some cups and plates had an unpleasant smell and did not seem properly clean. There were too few staff members for the number of guests, which resulted in slower service.
