This was our second time visiting The Cape, and second year in a row. Last year we had a great time, and this year we came with friends and enjoyed the 3 bedroom Penthouse for several of our 40th birthday celebrations. There was 7 of us staying in the 2 story Penthouse + 1 other room was booked for another couple. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. If you're planning visiting with family or close friends, the value of the Penthouse is great and should be worth considering. Lots of amenities are included with the Penthouse booking that are typically extra. The pool area is a great vibe. The view from every room at this hotel is amazing, and the staff and service is very attentive and welcoming. A special thank you to Fernanda Hernandez from the concierge team. I've traveled around the world and have stayed at many 5 star hotels... I don't think I've ever dealt with someone so pleasant and thorough. She was very attentive to my request for bookings and suggestions for our group of 9 for several weeks before our arrival. I was in charge of all the restaurant reservations and activities for our group, and she did a terrific job arranging everything for me. I would 100% come back to The Cape in the future, and would highly recommend this hotel. I think this hotel is mainly suited for adults (w/o kids) who are looking for a more lively atmosphere with the great pool area + rooftop bar. Great location too! Not too far from the main town. Every room has a view, and there are surfers all day out in the water so it's nice to enjoy this unique experience as well. Rooms were clean and quiet. The individual balconies of each suite is super nice and relaxing too. The Cape is a great hotel and one of the stars of Cabo.

An unforgettable stay with exceptional hospitality

Our stay at The Cape, a Thompson Hotel exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived until the day we checked out, the service was truly outstanding. Every member of the staff—from the front desk and housekeeping to the pool attendants, restaurant team, and room service—was warm, attentive, and genuinely happy to help. I wish I had written down everyone’s names because they all deserve recognition. Every request, no matter how small, was met with a smile and handled immediately. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning. The architecture and design create a beautiful organic, earthy atmosphere that feels both luxurious and relaxing. Everything was impeccably clean and beautifully maintained. Our room was spacious, comfortable, spotless, and thoughtfully designed, with incredible views that made it difficult to leave the balcony. The food throughout the property was exceptional. Every meal was fresh, beautifully presented, and of outstanding quality. We also enjoyed the spa, which was wonderful and added another level of relaxation to our stay. One thing I especially appreciated was having both a beautiful saltwater pool and a traditional pool. While the ocean in front of the hotel is generally too rough for swimming, the saltwater pool more than made up for it and quickly became one of our favorite places to relax while still enjoying the incredible ocean views. We were in Cabo for a wedding, so over four days we experienced nearly every part of the resort, and the level of service never wavered. It’s rare to find a hotel where every department consistently delivers such a high standard of hospitality. Another bonus is the location. There are excellent restaurants within walking distance, including one with fantastic Mediterranean cuisine, live jazz, and live music, making it easy to enjoy the area without going far. The Cape delivers everything you hope for in a luxury resort: beautiful accommodations, incredible food, breathtaking views, exceptional amenities, and, most importantly, a team of people who truly care about making your stay memorable. We can’t wait to return. Highly recommended.

Property is gorgeous, that’s it though

I must say the property is beautiful. The rooms were well laid out and the pool and gym are great. But it ends there, the food and beverage are wildly overpriced. The pool is more like a hot tub as it’s heated and about 90F at all times, super uncomfortable. The sunken bar we ordered wine and the waiter emptied the bottle and it wasn’t a full pour and had to summon the sommelier to pour the rest of the glass and apologize. $30 a glass and they are pouring you two ounces. Drinks are extremely overpriced and not that good. The food leaves a lot to be desired, except the French toast at breakfast which is fantastic. Pool service is very slow, 30-40 mins for Chicken quesadillas after watching other orders come before mine that were order after mine. No apology no nothing when it obv forgotten about. I can go on and on. If you want a beautiful hotel and location this is it, but I suggest dining out like we did for two of the evenings.
