If you want to pay 400.00 for the location being on Alvarado St., choose the Double Tree. I used to live there and worked in the hotel business for 10 years. one hotel I ran was a historic hotel. The ambience of the hotel is nice but if you want a good night's sleep, that didn't happen for us. The bed was broken and sank in the middle! The historic hotel I had had the number 1 priority, the beds and bedding must be comfortable. There is no excuse. I'm sure the response will be, "You should have stayed in our deluxe rooms." It would have cost more but.... We only stayed 1 night we were traveling the coast for our 40th wedding anniversary. Should have stayed at one of the other properties but my wife worked at Wells Fargo down there for 15 years. So we were nostalgic. Next time we'll stay at the Ramada in Marina. Their beds are comfortable and a lot cheaper.
