The Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort, Waikiki

The location is amazing. You are on the beach, have a pool and right on the main road where all the action is. The rooms were big.

Cons 1. The pool was always dirty. Each day there would be dirt floating in it!! 2. They were doing a renevation AND RHEY NEVER TOLD US when I called Marriott to book. 3. Lying at the pool was a nightmare!! Constant drilling and jackhammering... WOW 4. THE WATER IN THE SHOWER WAS LUKE WARM AT BEST! And there was so little pressure. 5. Not something we never knew, but being on the sea with a tiny little window thay yoi cant really see the beutiful view from the bed, is a waste, almost all other hotels have floor to ceiling windows so you are constantly looking at the amazing view. 6. First room we were given had ants all over it, so they upgraded us and moved us. When we checked out we were charged the higher rate !!! Really wasted our time in trying to sort this out, but we did. 7. Restaurant we went to for breakfast, food average and service the worst ee had in 8 days in Hawaii. I would definitely not stay here

La struttura storica è molto bella ed ha un giardino storico stupendo. La posizione è eccezionale, in pochi minuti si può raggiungere qualsiasi attrazione e/o luogo. La spiaggia è molto bella con un mare stupendo.

Cons Le stanze della Torre Mailani sono molto vecchie assolutamente non adatte ad un Hotel 5 stelle. L'arredamento è vistosamente datato. La colazione ha poca scelta e tutto di scarsa qualità. Nelle vicinanze ci sono hotel 4 stelle con stanze molto più moderne ed eleganti.

Terrible staff training, perfect location - old school Hawaiian hotel needs a serious update

Hotel looks fabulous and has history. The location in Waikiki is superb for shopping, dining and beach. The cocktail bar Mai Tai has live music and a great view and drinks. The bed was very comfortable and the whole hotel has a classic Hawaiian feel.

Cons The staff come across as very “cool” and never offer assistance or generally go out of their way at all. For example on check out - no one offers help with bags or asks you about your stay. Beach chairs and sun loungers are charged extra for guests. The pool is too small for a 5* hotel. The bathroom in the bedroom is far too small. The room is serviced once a day - unusual for a 5* hotel at this cost. Small things like cracks in hotel room wall - needs better upkeep of the property.
