Walkable to the convention center
We were in town for the truck convention so this hotel made that super easy. It is literally connected so you do not have to walk outside at all. If you forget something or need a nap that is so easy! Huge perk!!
Now, no in room microwave. There is a small microwave downstairs. The little tiny refrigerator managed to freeze my yogurt all while the ice cream turned to soup. The rooms were clean but definitely need a refresh. The gym is outstanding also.
Food choices are rough. Like really rough. We ate in the hotel 1 night and that was plenty. I tried to be open minded but the reviews do not lie on that. Trust them.
No coffee or water station downstairs. I did morning walks to Dunkin. Not terribly far but please pay attention to your surroundings.
Lastly, we were with a smaller company for the convention. I am not sure if it was the intention of the hotel staff or not, but it felt like we were just in the way. There is a company that pretty much takes over that hotel for this week. Parking is a nightmare. Just brace yourself for that. (check in ladies excluded)
Side note: There is also a small Target within walking distance but again; be mindful of your surroundings. Nothing to do with the hotel! Just the area in general. Everything closes early also.

Tired and uninspired.
There is absolutely nothing distinctive about this place. It was fresh and modern in 1979 or so. I'm surprised Marriott calls it a Westin because that's one of the more upscale brands and there's nothing upscale about this place. Furnishings are cheap and spare and 20 years old. The bathroom is old and with that white- fluorescent light. The bed pillows are the huge, firm rubber variety - uncomfortable. The entire place needs a good cleaning, dust bunnies abound. Trying to think of something positive to say: the fitness center is large...but then again, some broken equipment . This place damages the Westin brand; would not return.

Ideally located, and a responsive, professional staff
My wife and our two young boys overnighted at the Westin in Pittsburgh driving back home to NYC from Chicago.
The hotel is downtown, near all major highways and of course the convention center. I want to particularly praise the staff there, including a front desk person who was working the evening we checked in on Saturday August 1, 2026. I think her name was Megan but I could stand to be corrected.
The room we were originally assigned had some issues. We asked to be moved to another one and Megan was amazing, extremely professional and understanding.
So much so that within minutes she had moved us to a new room. The room was ideally located with a beautiful view of downtown Pittsburgh.
Thank you Megan and Westin for being so responsive and professional.

Visit for Conference, Stay for the Haunted Door Lock
I want to start by thanking the Front Desk Staff, the Housekeeper on my floor, and the engineers for assisting me with my door that was "haunted". I was the unlucky guest that had a door that would not open.
I stayed at the Westin for a Conference. This was my first time visiting the city of Pittsburgh, PA as well staying at a Westin Property. When I arrived at the property the Valet Team helped me with my bags and escorted me to the front desk. I was able to check in to my room to relax after my long travel. This is when my adventures with unlocking my door started but I was always quickly assisted on getting the door open and then fixed.
My room was clean and spacious. I am happy that I packed my white noise machine as the walls are thin and I could hear the tv or conversations in the next room. I did enjoy the lavender oil that was provided by the hotel.
The location is great, you are walking distance from Market Square as well as historical sites. One of the employees shared with me location where the Dark Knight was filmed. I was also a 10 minute Lyft ride to visit the Andy Whorl Museum.
One convenient item is that there is a mailbox outside of the hotel on the second floor. If you have mail items back home this is great.

Great hotel for location and service
Awesome location in downtown. Walked everywhere. The handicap rooms shower was mist accessible we’ve seen. The staff was incredible. Gregory helped us at check in friendly and knowledgeable. Shannon at front desk was great and helpful always smiling. Leroy in lobby was great to converse with. Lola our housekeeper took care of all our needs. Tiffany and Kristy in breakfast restaurant were awesome and Kristy remembers what we drank daily and was great to converse with.

Stay elsewhere
This might be one of the worst rooms I’ve stayed in, in a long time. The exterior of the hotel looks very promising, it looks modern and clean. The rooms are the complete opposite.
We were upgraded due to Ambassador status and it is concerning to think about what the other room looked like. This room was small, VERY dated and didn’t look clean or kept up. There was a layer of dust on the alarm clock and around the lamps.
Some of the sheets had yellowed and some were still white so it made the gross ones stand out more. The windows were so filthy with bird poop that one could not see clearly out of them. When one opens the room door, the lock pops out so the door doesn’t auto close. You need to fight with it to get the lock to go back in so the door can close. Housekeeping saw us fighting w the door and said they had put in several requests to get it fixed, to no avail.
The existing pillows were so bad, misshapen, and flat that we mentioned the issues to the front desk and they sent additional pillows. Of the ones they brought, only one was usable.
The grossest was the bathtub. They are having some serious drain issues and the sink, toilet and bathtub were not draining, so you’re showering in water that has backed up from the drain. You need to wait 20-30 minutes between different people showering so the tub doesn’t overflow.
Positive:
-Breakfast was a positive. The continental buffet was solid. They had fruit, yogurt, cereals, oatmeal and different breads. The hot food varies depending on how late you go to breakfast (how long has it been sitting out - they don’t refresh it often).
-location: it’s in a pretty good location with easy access to restaurants.
- conference area is fairly nice and clean.
All in all, if we were offered a free week, I still wouldn’t stay there.
