An Oasis in the Desert

This was the most seamless hotel stay we have experienced in a long time. Every detail was perfect from check-in to checkout. It's a beautiful, clean, tranquil place steps away from the casinos and attractions, and everything else Vegas has to offer. But when you return at night, it's quiet. We stayed in a spacious, junior king suite with a city view. It was lovely, with a large bathroom that had a separate shower and soaking tub. There is an adult pool along with other pools on the eighth floor deck. We enjoyed spending time there to cool off. The pool and bar staff were wonderful. The Dole pineapple colada was delicious. I had afternoon tea at Peacock Alley, and it was delightful! This is the only hotel I will stay in Las Vegas!

Cons Absolutely not flexible on booking cancellation with refund or even reschedule. I had emergency situation- they won’t consider. Pool closes too early, at 6 pm. Additional charge for late check out, additional bed etc. on the top of basic fees.

Would Have Been 5 Out of 5 But..............................

Another AMEX FHR hotel that deliberately does not offer enough money for the free breakfast perk. Hotel offers $60, the bare minimum allowed by AMEX. Unfortunately, unless you're getting Coffee and a Croissant, you're going to be spending extra $$ because the GM or the F&B Director wants to nickel and dime their guests. As you will see in the attachment, the American Breakfast is $32, add in $8 or $10 for tea and you're looking at $42 before tax and tip. As someone who's booked through AMEX over 100 times over the years and travels 100% for leisure, its unfortunate that I come across a small percentage of the hotels that pull this nonsense. (I should also mention that when I brought it up to an agent at the Front Desk, she pretended that AMEX sets the dollar amount for breakfast....so I had to inform her that it is absolutely the hotel that sets the amount On the bright side, the hotel is clean, the staff is friendly and the beds are comfortable. Some rooms seem to be more modern or renovated than others. Hotel was a Mandarin Oriental a year or so prior to Covid. The Waldorf is also a non-Casino hotel which is a good thing....and besides the Aria is a less than 5 minute walk next door. I also love that the pool area is pretty mellow; no loud piped in music, no wild/drunk guests and you don't have to fight to get a lounge chair. I just don't understand the logic of potentially pissing off your guests just to save a few dollars

A Quiet, Luxurious Haven in the Heart of the Strip

I had a wonderful experience at the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas. Here are some highlights that you might find helpful as you evaluate where to stay in Las Vegas: - Location: The hotel's location is excellent—right in the middle of the most active part of the Strip. Properties like Aria, Bellagio, Cosmopolitan, Paris, MGM Grand, and Park MGM are mere steps away, as are the Shops at Crystals. - Vibe: The Waldorf Astoria is a non-smoking, non-gaming hotel that provides a welcome respite from the overstimulation of the Strip. If you are looking to be near all the energy and action yet have a quiet and restful retreat to return to, this property is for you. - Rooms: The rooms are well-appointed and gorgeous. I loved the stylish decor, modern touches (such as panel-controlled drapes and lighting), the valet closet (with free shoe-shine service!), and high-quality bath amenities from Aesop. - Amenities: Some reviews mention a "lack" of amenities on the property, but I disagree with this assessment. To be clear: this is not a mega-resort/casino; this is a luxury 5-star hotel. The pools are beautiful, the gym is great (offering free fitness classes), and the spa is amazing (though, sadly, the laconium and experience showers were temporarily out of order during my visit). - Staff: Where the property truly shines is in its staff of top-notch professionals who thoughtfully attend to your needs. A massive shoutout to Christopher and Kadin in Peacock Alley and my wonderful personal concierge, Celise. There were so many other team members who made my stay memorable whose names I didn't catch—from friendly doormen and helpful desk agents to spa, dining, and housekeeping staff. - Personalized Attention: I greatly appreciated Celise's handwritten note and thoughtful welcome amenity, as well as Christopher and Kadin's cocktail recommendations and great conversation. They even remembered me from a quick visit I made for a cocktail seven months ago—astute memory and incredible hospitality! - Dining: I took full advantage of the on-property dining. Afternoon Tea at Peacock Alley was a delicious and very cute treat, alongside great cocktails and lunch options. Hard Shake was a lively, fitting spot for an evening nightcap, and in-room dining was top-notch as well. (I sadly didn't get to try Zen Kitchen this time around, but look forward to it on a future trip.) The hotel suited all of our needs perfectly—offering a comfortable bed, a quiet atmosphere, and a great workstation with sweeping Strip views for work, alongside relaxing spa and dining amenities for downtime. This property is worth your attention and consideration; it is easily among the best in Las Vegas.
