The Roomza Report, Week of September 7
Checkout checks the other sites for you, a rate calendar on every hotel page, search by landmark and neighborhood with a full-screen map, and Drury Hotels joins.

Where things stand
- New. The price check. Checkout looks up what the big booking sites charge for the same stay and shows it beside your price.
- New. The rate calendar. Every hotel page shows the lowest public rate under every night, two months out.
- New. Search by landmark or neighborhood, with a full-screen map and a Search this area button.
- New. Drury Hotels. More than a hundred properties, with a brand page grouped by state.
- Evolved. Prices. One number per stay on the card, the hotel page, and checkout, live for your dates.
- Evolved. Hotel pages. Star rating, a guest score out of 10, and what guests say, read from reviews across the web.
- Evolved. Checkout. Phone numbers with country flags, address autocomplete, and one family of booking emails.
- Holding steady. Guest checkout and the member rate reveal, one week in.
- Holding steady. Room cards in Claude and ChatGPT.
- Holding steady. The live booking rail, five weeks in.
- In progress. Room Lock, expanding property by property.
Shipped
- The price check. Pick your room and checkout looks up the same stay on the big booking sites. Their price sits next to yours. When another site is lower, we say so, plainly. You should never have to open four tabs to know you got a fair price.
- The rate calendar. On every hotel page, two months of nights with the lowest public rate under each one. Pick the cheap nights on purpose.
- Search by landmark or neighborhood. Type the Space Needle or the French Quarter and results anchor on that place. Sort by distance from it. Filter by neighborhood.
- The results map. Full screen, prices on the pins, and a Search this area button when you drag. Filters open over the map and keep you on it.
- Filters that read the room. Bed, view, bathtub, balcony, step-free access, and pets, drawn from what each hotel actually has. Filters carry from search onto the hotel page, so the room list opens already narrowed.
- Live prices, streamed. A dated search shows every card at once and fills in the live price for your stay as each one lands. No waiting on a blank page.
- One price per stay. The card, the hotel page, and checkout now quote the same number for the same dates. What you tap on is what you pay.
- Colored scores. A room score now reads at a glance: four color bands from a great night to a fair one.
- The guest signal. Hotel pages and cards now carry the hotel's star rating, a guest score out of 10, and the themes guests keep raising, read from reviews across the web.
- The member price, everywhere. Signed in, your rate shows on the hotel page, the book bar, every room row, and the concierge card.
- Drury Hotels. More than a hundred Drury and Pear Tree Inn properties, with a brand page grouped by state. Search a brand by name and results lead with See all of that brand's hotels.
- Featured hotels. A new shelf on the home page, ranked by guest engagement, with each hotel's cheapest night in the next 30 days.
- Your trip, as a ticket. The trip page is a stay ticket: dates, room, the hotel's own confirmation number, your requests as chips, and one manage list.
- Checkout details. A phone field with country flags, address autocomplete with region pickers, and a nationality line where the hotel needs one.
- Booking emails, one family. Confirmation, cancellation, and the hotel's confirmation code now read as one set, built the way a hotel's own do.
- Change dates in place. On the results page, change your dates and the list updates under you. No reload, no black screen.
- A welcome on first visit. One small sign-in card on the home page, once.
- Rome means Rome. A city search matches the whole word, with accents and local spellings understood.
Improved
- Lighter pages. Photos load smaller and faster on every surface.
- The buy box, quieter. A date row, the price, the button, and the guarantee in two lines.
- The concierge embed now says Tap to start, with text and voice side by side.
- Ask an assistant for a town and you get that town, not the nearest big city.
A long list because it was a long week. The thread through it is one price, wherever you look. See you next Sunday.
